Stop in and say hi to Bob if you are in the Valley.

Woodside Report - I was in Agassiz around noon and it was sunny but with lots of outflow.

When I came back to the Ranch it was fogged in so I started working on shipping some new gear out.

Later I found out Martin N flew off into the clouds reappearing 4-5 seconds later and he had a nice flight on his new Swift 5!

Martin had rave reviews on the Swift 5: Launched and stayed overhead in light wind. Turned more like the Alpina 3. When he landed in no wind he was still able to kite the Swift 5 to a dry spot.

Road Trip Update - I left Harrison Mills on December 11th at 2 pm and arrived in Manzanillo 4 days later after a marathon 60 hour trip.

No issues with the new Chevy Tracker despite it having 378000 kms, and it got a respectable 10 LT/100KMs even driving it hard over lots of hills. I took the mountain route through Nevada south.

After getting our condo ready, I raced back to Jocotepec to fly with Derek and the gang.

The day I arrived they got skunked on San Marcos with tailwinds.

But the next day we arrived on launch at noon and had strong SW cycles.

I launched first followed by Derek, Alex, Nicole and finally Bev. Norm elected to drive the retrieve.

I stayed close to launch trying to get in top topland after a few hours of soaring, here with Nicole in front of launch.

Everyone got high, Alex jumped over to Cerro Viejo and then back to San Marcos before heading south towards Tapalpa.

Nicole, Derek, Bev and I ended up by the gas station behind launch and Norm gave Derek a ride to his truck as top-landing was not possible due to the strong thermals.

The next day I headed back to canada on an Air Canada flight and Alex, Nicole and Derek cleaned up our Manzanillo Launch caled El Toro.

And the next day they flew and got almost two hours of soaring in.

Other than the road up being in bad shape, we are ready to fly at El Toro every day.

Road Trip Report - FlyBC is closed now as we move to Mexico until March 1.

I started driving down on Dec 11th after delivering the last load of gear to pilots getting ready for winter trips.

Brutal driving conditions on the I-20 East of Salem OR as it got icy and snowed in for many miles.

Made it to Tonopah NV last night for a steak dinner and a long sleep.

Woodside Report - FlyBC was open for exams and gear shipping but I told the students to stay home because of the outflow winds expected.

I gave Amin & Sean a ride to the bottom of Woodside at 10 am, so they could hike up and I headed in to Agassiz for errands.

When I got back after noon the mountain had a huge cloud forming right over launch and the guys had to wait until 3 pm to launch.

It had been launchable with light inflow winds but IFR conditions made them wait.
